Joint Entrance Examination (MAIN) is a paper-pen as well as computer based entrance test directed by Central Board of Secondary Education for admission to bachelor degree engineering programs in NIT’s,IIIT's centrally funded institutes, and state participating institutes.

Students who clear the JEE (Main) 2015 earn the chance to appear for Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2015 which will be directed for undergraduate engineering admission in IIT colleges in India.

The number of attempts permitted for JEE Main exam for a students is three. 

JEE Main 2015 Exam pattern:- The JEE Main 2015 exam is based on the Class 12 syllabus in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. JEE Main consists of two papers 

Paper 1- (B.E/ B.tech):

This will have objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, with equal weightage to the three. The exam will be conducted in the Pen and Paper Based mode (Offline) as well as Computer Based mode (Online).

Paper 2- (B.Arch/ B. Planning):

This paper will have objective type questions from Mathematics in Part I and Aptitude Test in Part II. Part III is to test drawing aptitude of the candidate. This will be held only in the Pen and Paper Based mode.

Eligibility for JEE Main 2015:- 

Age:- 

• General category students born on or after October 01, 1990.
• Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disabilities (PwD) students born on or after October 01, 1985.

Note that date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be considered as final. 

Year of appearance in Class 12 (Qualifying Examination):- 


  • Only those students who have passed their Class 12 exam or equivalent qualifying examination in 2013 or 2014 or those who are appearing for their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2015 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2015.
  • Students who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2012 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2016 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)-2015.
  • Students who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2012, did not pass in 2012, but passed in 2013 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2015.


Number of Attempts:- 

The number of attempts to appear for JEE Main Exam is three. 

Number of Attempts and Age Limit for states of Maharashtra and Odisha:-

Since the states of Maharashtra and Odisha  joined JEE (Main) system from 2014. The age limit for admission to institutions in these states which were earlier admitting candidates based on their state level examinations, will be as per their past practice only. Any change in the same will be duly informed and updated.

How to apply for JEE Main 2015?

APPLY ONLINE for JEE Main 2015 exam on www.jeemain.nic.in. JEE Main 2015 Online Registration begins from 07th November and ends on 18th December 2014. JEE Main Online Application Form consists of the following three steps

a) Fill the Application Form
b) Upload of scanned images
c) Payment of application fee 


Aspirant will be able to modify/correct the particulars before the payment of fees. Once the payment of fee has been made / e-Challan downloaded, your candidate particulars CANNOT BE EDITED. JEE Main 2015 aspirants need not send a hardcopy of the completed JEE 2015 online application form and copies of any enclosures to CBSE.

JEE MAIN 2015 Syllabus:- 

JEE Main Syllabus will be of Class 12 level and will consist of subjects of Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics.

JEE Main 2015 Selection Process:-

JEE Main score and Class 12 normalized marks in the ratio of 60:40 will be used to calculate All India Rank (AIR).

JEE Main 2015 Reservation of Seats:-
