PSI Exam of Maharashtra Public Service Commission is one of the most important of examinations conducted for appointments to the Services of the Government of Maharashtra and its allied organizations and departments. This exam is a ticket for young aspirants wishing to join the state police force as Police Sub Inspector. Modeled on the IPS exam MPSC PSI exam consists of main and preliminary test. Aspirants need to clear both main and preliminary exam in order to become eligible for MPSC Police Sub Inspector recruitment.

Eligibility for MPSC PSI Exam

• Age: The age limit for aspirants is as follows

a) Minimum age= 19 years
b) Maximum age=28 years

• Age Relaxations: Age relaxation is as per the rules of the Government of Maharashtra.
 

• Educational Qualification:-

1. Graduation in any stream from recognized university.
2. Good command over Marathi which is the official language of the state.
3. Final year students are also eligible to apply for MPSC PSI exam subject to the fact their final result is announced before the form submission for main exam.

For MEN

i. Chest: 79 cms
ii. Height: 165 cms

For WOMEN

A. Height: 157 cms

How to Apply for MPSC PSI Exam

Following is a step by step procedure for applying for MPSC PSI Exam

STEP 1    Visit MPSC official website.
STEP 2    New users are required to register on the website.
STEP 3    On successful completion of registration you will receive Log ID and password.
STEP 4    Login using ID and password.
STEP 5    Fill in necessary details in your user profile.
STEP 6    Look up for MPSC PSI Exam notification.
STEP 7    Click on the link MPSC PSI exam online application.
STEP 8    Fill in exam details and select exam center
STEP 9    Note examination ID.
STEP 10    Take a printout of application form along with payment challan.
STEP 11    Make payment of application fee at SBI using payment challan.
STEP 12    Note transaction ID and date of transaction.
STEP 13    Login using your user ID and password
STEP 14    Enter transaction ID in online application form to complete application process.

Paper Pattern for MPSC PSI Exam 2014:


• First objective paper which comprises of Marathi and English which will be of 100 marks.
• Second objective paper of General Knowledge and reasoning will be of 100 marks.
• Candidates will be given one hour to complete the paper.

MPSC PSI Syllabus changes

Maharashtra Public Service Commission has made certain changes in the exam pattern and added four new topics to the existing syllabus. Following are recommended MPSC PSI syllabus changes:

• The first objective type paper which comprises of English and Hindi sections will consist of 100 marks instead of 200 marks.
• The second objective type paper will comprise of sections of General Knowledge and reasoning with 100 marks.
• Applicants will be given one hour to complete the paper.
• Basic acts like Computer and Information Technology Act/Indian Penal Code (IPC)/Criminal Procedure Code (CrPc) and Indian Evidence Act have been introduced.
• Questions related to acts will be objective type questions.
