Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) Dehradun Admission 2015 Notification, Application Procedure

Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) Dehradun is an inter service institute under the Ministry of Defence. RIMC is dedicated towards providing education to boys aged between 11 ½ and 18 years of age. These aspirants are selected through an all India competitive examination. The institute prepares candidates for admission to National Defence Academy and NAVAC Academy. If in any case an aspirant does not wish to join these institutes RIMC guarantees full academic support  so that candidate can take admission into any academic course in India.

RIMC Dehradun conducts written entrance exam for admission. Admissions are made to Class VIII only

RIMC Dehradun Admission Eligibility:


Age:-  RIMC Admission is bi-annual i.e., in January and July each year. Candidates (boys only) should not be less than 11 years and 6 months of age but must not have attained the age of 13 years on 01 January (for the term commencing January) and 01 July (for the term commencing July). The process for admission starts one year in advance.

Education:-

Admissions are made to class I (equivalent to class VIII) only. The student should be studying in class VII in a recognized school at the time of admission to RIMC. They should also be medically fit for entry to the college in accordance with medical standards.

Vacancies:-

Generally one vacancy per state is reserved for candidates. However states like UP, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu West Bengal and Maharashtra will have two vacancies each.

Test Paper Pattern:- Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in an All-India Examination held twice a year. The general standard of questions in the entrance examination is of class VII.

There are two sections for the entrance exam :-

Written: - The written part of the examination consists of a test paper in English (125 Marks), Mathematics (200 Marks), and General Knowledge (75 marks). Candidates can appear for the Mathematics test in Hindi or English Medium. General Knowledge can be answered in English and Hindi. To qualify, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 50 % Marks in each subject of the entrance test.

Oral (Viva Voce) :- The oral examination consists of a Viva Voce test of 50 marks, which is designed to assess a candidate's intelligence, personality and confidence.
