NATA 2014 Exam Dates | Notification | Pattern


Wish to pursue graduation in architecture? Then the NATA exam is an important  step in fulfilling this career goal. National aptitude test in architecture (NATA) serves as a common entrance test for first year admission to B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) course. As you may heard or read about it is one of the most comprehensive aptitude tests in the country gauging every aspect of the science.

Conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA) this test is mandatory for admission to architecture colleges in india. The exam is held every year during the month of March or April as notified by the board and can be taken on any working day till the last date for the exam.

Did you know: As mentioned NATA is a complete and comprehensive test of the applicants knowledge and understanding of architecture. The test rates candidates observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sense (sense of beauty),senstitivity, critical thinking and ability to draw.


Important Dates for NATA 2014:


•Start Date for online registration: March 01, 2014 (Friday)

•Download of hall ticket: To be announced soon
•Test dates:On all working days from March 01, 2014 (Friday) onwards. 
•Results- To be announced soon

Exam Date: NATA 2014 will commence from 1 March 2014.

Candidates are expected to report 30 minutes before the schedule time for the exam. You are supposed to carry receipt cum appointment voucher, valid photoID and drawing material. Test Center personnel will guide you on other important instructions.

Eligibility:-

•Educational Qualification:- Class 12 or its equivalent qualification
•Aggregate:- 50 percent marks
•Mandatory subject: Mathematics

How to Apply: Following is a step by step application procedure for NATA 2014

•STEP 01: Purchase NATA 2014 Application form by paying application fee of Rs 1,000 by bank challan at any of the designated branches of the State Bank of India.
•STEP 02: Fill the registration form and obtain important documents required for registration.
•STEP 03: Select a test center that is closest and convinent to you.
•STEP 04: Submit your application form and documents at the designated test center.
•STEP 05: Select a convinent date for taking the exam.
•STEP 06: Request the test center for registration for the particular date.
•STEP 07: Obtain receipt cum appointment voucher.

Important documents required for registration:

•Attested copy of Class 12 certificate.
•One recent passport sized photograph to be attached on registration form.
•Valid PhotoID bearing photograph and signature.
•Valid email ID.

Application or Test Fee: The Application fee for NATA exam is Rs 1000. This registration fee includes the test fee for the exam, NATA information brochure and registration form.

NATA Score Card- NATA Score Card for the exam will be available on NATA website. Score Card is available within four working days of taking the test.

NATA Passing Score- As per the Council of Architecture’s recommendation the NATA passing score is an aggregate of 40 percent that is 80/200 to be considered for admission to first year B.Arch (Bachelor in Architecture) course.

Drawing Test: The drawing test is a two hour paper wherein candidates have to attempt three questions. The section ascertains the candidates ability

•To  sketch an object proportionately and in an aesthetic manner.
•To visualize and draw effects of light on object and how it is cast on surroundings.
•To combine and draw three dimensional objects.
•To create visual harmony in a compostion.
•To understand scales and proportions.
•To create intresting two dimensional drawings.

Aesthetic Sensitivity Test: The section includes 40 multiple choice questions. This test evaluates perception, imagination,observation, creativity and communication of the candidate along with architectural awareness. Apart from that this sections also includes questions in

•Analytical Reasoning
•Mental Ability
•Imaginative comprehension and expression
•Architectural expression.
