IAS Preparation Tips | Tricks | Techniques

IAS Preparation can be likened to a journey. A journey that demands consistency, persistence all the way till you achieve or come closer to your goal of an IAS. The simple trick for preparations is to prepare in the right amount and capacity for the exam not less or not more. There is need to develop a study technique that is smart yet complete. Following are some golden tips for IAS exam preparation.

Evaluate yourself at various stages of preparation: Evaluate yourself at various stages of preparation. This helps you to understand how prepared you are and how much you need to prepare. This helps you to keep preparations in check. This also helps you in calming those nerves as well as performing better for the exam.

Study smartly: There is a tendency to misinterpret the term ‘study smartly’. Study smartly does not mean selective study or the easy way out, smart study is to approach each situation smartly. This means reading from different books, referring to question papers, making notes and being ready to test yourself at all times. Study smartly also means being flexible.

Prepare time table and manage time: Prepare timetable and learn to manage your time effectively. Delegate enough time for subjects and follow your timetable. Multi-tasking does not help, take things one at time.

Make Notes: These notes will help you in current affairs and other topics.

Solve sample papers: Solve as many sample papers as possible. There is no other better tip for preparation.

Revise: Revise your work regularly. There is no substitute for revision. Revision helps in calming those exam nerves and also sharpening what you have studied and learned over a period of time.
